General Information
Guests may use the Morris University
Center attended lot (Lot B) or metered spaces. Other lots may also be used if
special arrangements have been made with Parking Services or Conferences and
Institutes. Hours for Lot B are 7:00 a.m.-12:30
a.m. Monday through Thursday
and 7:00 a.m.-5:30 p.m. on Friday. The lot closes at 5:30 p.m. each evening
when classes are not in session. The maximum fee of $10.00 is put on accounts
receivable for individuals who are unable to pay when exiting the lot.
Those who have
lost their entry tickets are charged for parking from the
time the lot opened to the time they actually exited the lot.
Lot C (metered lot behind
Rendleman Hall) has a two (2) hour daily limit. Individuals who leave
vehicles parked in the lot for more than two hours will be subject to fines.
Citations are issued even if the parking meter shows time available. This time
limit does not apply to vehicles appropriately parked in
parking spaces for persons with disabilities. The time limit also does not
apply in Lot C after 4:30 P.M., Monday-Friday. Parking Service Agents will
continue to ticket for meter violations after 4:30 P.M., Monday-Thursday,
however.
Cougar Village overnight guests
will be allowed to park in residential parking spaces at Cougar Village with
appropriate overnight guest passes issued in accordance with the Overnight
Guest Policy. Daytime guests may register at the Commons Building for
parking permits good for a maximum of four (4) hours which allow them to park in residential parking spaces.
NOTE: If you have a red, green, blue, orange, brown or yellow (RH) permit on your
car, you are a visitor at Cougar Village. These permits are honored in
Lot 5A or 4A at Cougar Village. No additional permits are required
unless you plan to stay overnight.
Woodland, Prairie or Bluff Hall visitors may
park their vehicles in Lot B or Lot C (two-hour daily time
limit) or at the meters near Woodland, Prairie or Bluff Halls. Daytime
guests may register at the front desks of the residence halls for parking permits good for a
maximum of four (4) hours. These guests may park in residential parking
spaces in Lots WH,
PH, BH or
EH with these permits.
An overnight guest may obtain a pass to park a vehicle in Lots WH, PH or BH
when the sponsor resident completes the overnight guest form and receives
appropriate approval.
Service permits are available to vendors who have
service contracts with SIU Edwardsville requiring them to make recurring trips to and from
the University. Each of these vendors must submit a letter annually, on company stationery, through
the appropriate company official to Parking Services. If requests are
approved, recipients are entitled to park in University vehicle spaces or in
regular spaces in any required lot, but may not use meters without paying.
Individuals who wish to park in Lot C (metered lot), but who cannot find an
available University vehicle space, should go to the attended lot (Lot B)
where they may park at no charge. Lot C has a two
hour daily time limit at the meters and in the service vehicle area.

Miscellaneous
Signs owned by Parking Services are to be used only in support of
parking activity as it relates to construction or events held on campus.
The fee for setup and removal is $35.00 per sign.
No parking will be permitted in the tunnel
between Rendleman Hall and the Morris University Center.
Occupied vehicles are permitted to stop along
Hairpin Drive in designated areas for the sole purpose of dropping off and/or picking up
riders. Parking, even when the vehicle is occupied, is not permitted and will result in a
fine being issued. The exception is the area reserved
for prospective students and their parents as long as they have the
appropriate permits from the Office of Admissions.
Families with Cougar Lake Pool memberships will
be issued Lot 10 hangtags by Campus Recreation.
Exceptions
Buses used to transport visitors to an event on
campus may be unloaded and loaded on Hairpin Drive, then parked in Lot 10
unless other arrangements have been made with Parking Services.
The University will not ticket any State of
Illinois or university vehicle unless it is parked inappropriately in a space for persons
with disabilities, a fire lane or otherwise obstructing traffic. No additional
SIU
Edwardsville permit is necessary. Arrangements must be made and fees paid, however, for
the use of Lot B.
There is open parking in all
non-residential permit-required lots after 8:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday,
after 4:30 p.m. on Friday, and all day Saturday and Sunday.
