NOTICE
Alcohol, Drug and Weapon Violations
Reported to the Office of Student Affairs for campus disciplinary action

The University Police, in addition to Housing, Various Units on Campus, Individual members of our Faculty, Staff and Students, including the general public, can make referrals to the Office of Student Affairs concerning violations of the Student Conduct Code. 

The release of this data by the Office of Student Affairs is pursuant to the 1998 amendments to 20 U.S.C. 1082(f).  The below table represents statistical data concerning the number of referrals to the Office of Student Affairs for campus disciplinary action, related to alcohol, drug and weapon violations that are reportable under this Act.  The figures also represent alcohol and drug violations handled internally by University Housing, a division of the Office of Student Affairs.

As stated above, more than one source, including the Police, may be involved in making a referral to student affairs about the same individual.  Therefore, please use figures with caution when making statistical comparisons or compilations.

NOTICE

The 1999 Amendments to the Federal Act require that statistical data for Alcohol, Drug and Weapon violations for 1999 and beyond, be broken down by the following categories:   (1) Campus; (2) Non-campus building or property; (3) Public property.  Please refer to the definitions and Zone Reports #A, #B and #C, which follow, for statistical data.

Offenses Reported to Student Affairs
for campus disciplinary action

Definition of Campus:   (1) Any building or property owned or controlled by an institution within the same reasonably contiguous geographic area and used by the institution in direct support of, or in a manner related to, the institution's educational purposes, including residence halls; and (2) Any building or property that is within or reasonably contiguous to the area identified in paragraph (1), that is owned by the institution but controlled by another person, is frequently used by students, and supports institutional purposes.
